We know that sedentary workers who break up their working day with a variety of physical tasks are less prone to musculoskeletal injury and to stress related ill-health.
Some employers are able to provide on-site exercise facilities, but the uptake of these is limited and is frequently confined to those who would take exercise anyway. Corporate fitness programmes can be designed and implemented that can either optimise the use of existing facilities, or simply use the great outdoors to encourage employees to become more active either as individuals or in groups.
